Inspiration, like courage, is a collective resource. It’s something we can draw on from others and share with the world.
This month in our Creative Contemplation practice, we’re exploring the archetype of The Visionary and the affirmation, “I am inspired.”
At this point in human history, being a visionary is necessary for our survival.
Our families, ecosystems, and the sanctity of all life hang in the balance, waiting for us to create new ways of sharing this beautiful planet.
We’ve lived through the consequences of capitalism. We know the harm it’s caused and now, we must face its destructive aftermath with bravery and hope. It’s time to shift our values and our heroes.
Inspiration is contagious ✨
Who are the people that inspire you? What stories, places, or events are helping you create a new vision for your life? Are there marginalized voices, ideas, and narratives we can uplift and share? Where can we look to indigenous wisdom and spiritual leaders to show us the path of regeneration?
Share your thoughts and comments below! Let’s create a shared vision full of hope and new life. 🌿
Right now Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert has been inspiring for me as well as going to see live music. It always fills me up with awe seeing live performances and the talent that comes through.
I learned of her passing yesterday, but I've been really inspired by the artist Faith Ringgold. She was a civil rights era artist, and is most famous for her "story quilts" which were paintings on canvas surrounded by quilted frames, with a narrative story written onto the fabric. Faith's work depicted violence of the race riots in the 1960s, and other elements of her expierience as a black woman in America at her time. There's a really wonderful interview of her from Tate Modern on youtube where she goes into depth about her art career. I was lucky enough to see her work in person a couple months ago and felt inspired to start quilting.
