“On a run next to a busy street,
I pause
The piercing blue
of a broken eggshell
against black asphalt, wet
with rain
speaks of promise
and new life”-On a cracked city sidewalk, signs of life are everywhere
Hello.
I heard on a podcast recently that inspiration spreads faster than fear. Since then, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the power of sharing stories of hope and regeneration. How our attention to life might become the next revolution.
Today, I’m inviting you into the conversation.
What stories of hope are you holding close to your chest? How might you draw from and contribute to the collective well of inspiration, like living water to nourish our spirit? Join this month’s community thread to share what inspires you. Let’s cultivate stories of creation.
If you’re low on hope or inspiration, I offer you a tall, cool glass to drink. Below is a round-up of poetry and stories to refill your well. May you be nourished and held safe in love and community. 💗
A well of inspiration
Our first Creative Contemplation letter this year- full of inspiration for Aries season and beyond (especially relevant for today’s Solar Eclipse in Aries!)
A poem (from the excerpt above) inspired by a run in my old neighborhood and the resilience of nature
Reflections on creating safety and shelter in each other
An interview with visual artist Joe Bradford about overcoming obstacles, facing your darkest moments, and believing in yourself.
We need each other to remember we’re not alone, to share ideas, and create visions of hope. Being in community sparks something inside of us—a shared rekindling of our connection to all that is, a vital life force mirroring unconditional love.
There are several upcoming opportunities to be together, including a Solar Eclipse Tea + Tarot gathering tonight at 9 pm EST!
Upcoming Workshops
(This class is free for paying members of Heartbeats. You can upgrade your membership anytime and receive the Zoom link to join our monthly nature journaling series!)
Last but not least, the lovely
and I are co-hosting our first open mic poetry event! This is free to attend and share your poems, or just listen. 🎙️Thank you for your presence here, for the strength, wisdom, and hope you embody (even when you believe no one else notices). You are loved. You are love.
All of mine,
Mariah
