Isn’t it so interesting how making peace with where we are is the work and joy of being human? Being in the thick of it sounds so much more delightful to my senses now but I know it has its own challenges, as does the perspective from the inner solitude of grief. 💗
Now I’ve committed myself to working for myself full time I feel as though I’m on the edge of a tall cliff... exhilarated and terrified at the same time!!!! But it feels GOOD!!!!!!
Thank you! I’m excited for you, too! The moment before the leap is so scary! But I believe in the power of surrendering and all of the help and resources and synchronicities that can finally show up when we let go of what we think we know.
Cheering for you and following your journey with love!
I enjoyed your writing. I don’t know your backstory – where your grief comes from but I’m glad you have a new start! I’ve been retired for two years, and I live with my daughter and son-in-law and lots of animals! I did substitute teaching last school year but this year I am, concentrating on being creative and sketching, a bit which I’ve never done and sewing garments and quilts and mending and making things for the house that need making or mending! I also hope to be more consistent with exercise and spend more quality time preparing healthier food. I was a home economics teacher for 12 years and then a special ed teacher and a homeschool mom to five. It is a nice time for me to not feel financial pressure, be able to help and be helped by my children and be close to them while pursuing my creative interests. Best wishes! I am just learning about Substack, and writing down my thoughts in a more public place.❤️🌺🌸🧵
Welcome, Sybil! Thank you for being here. It sounds like you're entering a really sweet time of life, I hope you find contentment among the new adventures!
I was homeschooled, along with my two sisters and my mom loves quilting. She was also a special Ed teacher. It sounds like you have a lot in common!
I love Substack and I hope you find a welcoming community here. It takes vulnerability to share ourselves with others but I think that's the only way we can find true connection. If you'd ever like to share what you're making, I host a monthly community art share. I'd love to feature some of your work! Here's the link for more info: https://forms.gle/cLWpUGgzhcnzsMbL6
Thanks again for being here and commenting. Sending you blessings in this new season of your life. 💗
Beautiful words. Sending you so much love for the journey... in every sense!
I’m very much in the ‘thick of it’ at the moment but I can see the hellos through the trees... the light shines through... so I know I’m safe to be here. I dream of climbing the mountain again... literally and figuratively... but I know I’m gathering strength and resources for the journey currently. Xxx
Thank you!

Thank you, Lauren! I've really been enjoying your weekly card pulls. They are very much resonating with me.
I love your perspective of being in the thick of it, looking for the light, looking forward to the next summit. Thank you for sharing your journey. 💗
Ahh I’m so glad you are enjoying them! I love sharing them too!!! It gives me a great opportunity to check in with myself too.
Yes... the mountains I can see in the distance for now!!! 🩷
