Welcome. This is a new series of unpublished poetry called Bloom: A season of grief and gratitude. These poems were written after my Dad’s unexpected death in the same year I became unexpectedly pregnant. The free introduction to this series is here. I hope these poems touch something inside your heart beyond words and weave a tapestry of connection between all of us. 💗
There is so much surrendering in grief and so much surrendering in love.
Hello.
These poems were written in the first year after my Dad’s passing, before I knew I’d become pregnant later that year with Noah. One was written in the Spring and one was written in the Fall of 2021, both different seasons of surrender.
I hope these poems resonate with you and help you to feel seen and validated, wherever you are in your story today.
Thank you to everyone from
’s Friday thread who read “Dead Houseplants” and commented so kindly. I loved hearing your perspectives on grief and gratitude. I hope to create a sacred space where we can show up for both. 💕Snow
A snowflake clings to silk spun by a spider The storm comes yet it remains To be alive is much the same Our bodies vulnerable embrace threads of love knitted in time This too shall be said: My father is dead One of many, beloved by me A unique and fragile thing waving in the wind Strong, brave, resilient to life’s storms Now falls pale as a flake fresh with new life
